Job Description:

Operate, monitor, creel, and clean knitting machines under regular supervision

Job Responsibilities:

• Creel machines according to procedure.

• Patrol the machines to ensure proper operation of high-quality fabric.

• Doff the machine according to procedures.

• Verify production ticket information, make production notation and attach to the roll.

• Place finished piece on utility truck.

• Clean the machine according to procedures.

• Cut head end and check for defects.

• Process head end cut according to QA procedures.

• Record the piece number in the QA book and on the head end cut.

• Update weight and/or count control charts as necessary.

• Follow the safety rules prescribed by the company.

• Perform the quantity and quality of work as prescribed by the company.

• Keep area neat and organized.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED, three months knitting experience or the desire & ability to learn.

Physical Demand:

• Good manual dexterity to grasp hand tools. Frequent bending, standing, stretching, stooping, reaching, and climbing of ladders / stools. Frequently moving around machines through narrow aisles. Will be called upon to lift between 20 and 40 pounds between 12 and 16 times per day. Frequently lifting 10-pound yarn packages and 35-pound comez rolls packages to various heights (including above shoulders & head).
