Founded in 1970 by the Brown family, Adele Knits is a leading manufacturer of high quality circular knit products. As a vertically integrated manufacturer, we own our fabrics from beginning to end. We control each step of the production process in our 200,000 square foot facility based in Winston-Salem, NC. As a testament to our reputation, we have been an approved supplier to the automotive industry's big three giants for over twenty years. Facility
After 25 years in downtown Winston-Salem, NC, Adele Knits purchased and refurbished the building at our present location. Here we have over 200,000 square feet of manufacturing space with room to grow. Our entire operation is on one level and is designed to speed our product flow from process to process.
Exceptional manufacturing
Adele Knits maintains a state of the art facility geared to offer customers short lead times in order fulfillment, on time delivery, higher quality products and quick response to development and special requests.
Once the raw materials enter our facility nothing leaves until they are transformed into a first quality finished product. The basic production steps include knitting, fabric preparation, wet or dry processing, finishing, quality assurance and shipping. Adele invests in technology and equipment for knitting, dyeing, finishing, certified clean rooms for wiper and tack cloth processing and high-tech wash rooms. State of the art computer systems closely monitor manufacturing results in key areas.
Capabilities
Knitting
Our state of the art knitting equipment has the capability to produce circular knit fabrics in jersey, interlock, double knit and terry constructions. With 85 knitting machines, Adele Knits has the capacity to knit over 300,000 pounds of fabric weekly. All equipment is monitored and controlled by the latest computer technology.
Jet dyeing Adele knits has the ability to scour and dye all of our polyester and heavy weight nylon fabrics in our computer-controlled jet dyeing equipment. This pressurized, high temperature equipment produces fabrics with better color fastness properties.
Paddle dyeing Our paddle equipment is used for the dyeing of lightweight nylon fabrics. This machinery is the most relaxed process available to produce ultra high stretch nylon products.
Finishing
A dedicated computer system controls the set-up of operating parameters for each individual fabric style. This insures that our customers receive unparalleled product consistency.
